How TRACE works

Install devices once, stream verifiable data for a decade.

TRACE connects low-cost edge devices to a cryptographic MRV engine, so operators, ports, sovereigns, and registries share one hardware truth layer instead of spreadsheets and estimates.

Three steps from field devices to verifiable MRV

Devices are installed once, then spend the next decade producing signed windows of energy and emissions data that can back reporting, optimization, and future credits.

1

Install low-cost devices

TRACE devices connect to CTs and, where needed, fuel sensors and environmental sensors. Each device includes an ESP32-class controller, ATECC608B secure element, GPS, and LoRa or cellular backhaul. Installations are designed to be quick and repeatable across thousands of sites.

2

Sign and validate at the edge

Every 15 minute window of measurements is aggregated, validated against basic QA rules (sample completeness, voltage range, time sync, geofence) and then signed in hardware using ECDSA. The result is a tamper-evident record ready for reporting and audit.

3

Report, optimize, and prepare for credits

TRACE streams verified windows into dashboards and APIs. Operators and ports can track energy and emissions by site, asset, or service, feed data into climate software, and prepare for Article 6 and registry methodologies once they are available.

Built for operators, ports, sovereigns, and registries

Each stakeholder gets something different from the same hardware truth layer. The MRV engine stays the same; what changes is how the dataset is sliced, reported, and financed.

Telecom operators and TowerCos

Cut energy waste and diesel theft, support net-zero and lender reporting, and prepare tower and MSAG fleets for future crediting, without guessing from bills.

Port authorities and terminal operators

Gain control over shore power, cranes, and yard equipment emissions with accurate, auditable data that can support EU ETS, FuelEU, and green port commitments.

Sovereigns and Article 6 units

Use TRACE as asset-level MRV infrastructure for national decarbonization programs and future Article 6 crediting, especially for telecom and port clusters.

Registries and validation bodies

Reduce verification risk and cost by relying on cryptographically signed, traceable measurements instead of inconsistent self-reported logs and spreadsheets.
